Ben Brennan

Ben Brennan is a Co-Founder, Partner, and member of the Investment Committee for Enceladus. He is primarily responsible for finding and evaluating investments, executing transactions, and managing portfolio companies.
Prior to founding Enceladus, Ben worked in a variety of investment and operational roles. As an investor, Ben has primarily focused on lower middle market businesses, but he has also placed investments into companies ranging in size from publicly traded corporations down to venture start-ups. Ben has significant experience placing majority equity investments, as well as minority equity and debt investments. As an operator, Ben has held senior executive positions at both family-owned and private equity-owned businesses. Earlier in his career he trained as an accountant as part of GE’s Financial Management Program, taking on roles across FP&A, controllership, tax, internal audit, risk, and investor relations functions.
Ben’s previous operating roles include CFO of a family-owned industrial valve sales and services company (Flotech Inc) and various financial roles at GE Capital as part of its Financial Management Program. As CFO at Flotech, Ben partnered with the family owners to help professionalize the operations of the business and prepare the business for a transition of ownership. Ben then led the successful sale of the Company to a strategic buyer, FloWorks International (a portfolio company of Clearlake Capital) and was asked to join the FloWorks’ senior management team as VP of Corporate Development to help with integration and lead M&A activity.
Ben also brings nearly a decade of experience as an Investment Professional working at lower middle-market private equity firms Warren Equity Partners and Heartwood Partners, as well as GE Equity and middle-market lender Antares Capital. Ben worked alongside Russ Spieler (Managing Partner of Enceladus) at Heartwood Partners and alongside Josh Bucher (VP of Enceladus) at Warren Equity Partners.
Ben earned his B.S. in Finance from Penn State University, with minors in International Business, Communication Arts & Sciences, and International Studies. Outside of work, you’ll find Ben surfing or exploring Jacksonville’s many waterways by boat.
